Return to Paradise - Harvest walk in Gibbston Valley

It has been a long dry summer.
The grapes are ripening.
The blackberries gleam and say "pick me".
Rosehips abound.

The Kawarau River is emerald green.
To get a peek at the rapids and the rugged Otago Landscape...

Come, walk with me.

Through the vineyards.

To the trail along the river.

Let's stop awhile and enjoy the luscious sweet blackberries.

 Sweet Briar rosehips  are everywhere.
Rosehip syrup - a rich source Vitamin C was given to most NZ babies until recently.

The seed time and the harvest...

The trail brings us to Peregrine Winery...

and the cellar door.
Some Peregrine Wines Riesling is coming home with us.
Generous landholders like Peregrine have permitted access for the Gibbston Valley Trail on their property.
I applaud their generosity.

Further along the trail is the  Kawarau Bungy Centre
You are welcome to jump.
I'll watch...
and take your photo.

Another lovely day on the Queenstown Trail.
