From the Boathouse Cafe garden on to the Frankton Walkway along the shores of Lake Wakatipu.
Willows in the morning sunshine...
dip their leaves into the Lake water. Lake levels are very high this season.
The flax bushes along the track lift their flower stems to the sky and their seed pods glisten.
The water in Lake Wakatipu is crystal clear.
High lake levels are the result of heavy rain in the mountains.
Over the next few weeks I am going to find interesting places to walk in the Wakatipu/Queenstown region.
If you want to find out where I am walking take a peek at Queenstown Trails which has maps and photographs of the extensive new walking and cycling trail system.
In February we are heading north to Nelson to walk the Abel Tasman Coast track and in March the Heaphy Track.
