Spring walk - Glenorchy

Today is glorious.

The drive up Lake Wakatipu is magnificent. Snow-capped mountains, deep turquoise Lake Wakatipu and blue skies.
The Glenorchy Cafe is our first stop. Here we are in the wilderness enjoying a wonderful lunch.
There is time for me to introduce Dick to the walk I enjoyed with Margaret and Graham and Tao in January.

Come walk with us, at Glenorchy.

Promise of new growth on the willows. The Rees River enters Lake Wakatipu.
Skeletal trees border our path.
Snow-capped mountains encircle us.

Catkins...

Glenorchy wharf.

Queenstown Gondola trip on a glorious day

We are so blessed to be able to live for part of the year in Queenstown.
Snow fell on the mountain tops last night and we woke to a clear morning.

Come, let's ride the gondola today

No, you don't have to bungy jump... today.

From Bob's Peak - Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu, The Remarkables, Cecil Peak and Walter Peak.
and a short walk up the hill, where I had a most interesting conversation with a geologist.
Oh, how lovely on the mountains.
I love this place.

Spring is in the air - Queenstown Gardens

There are snow-capped mountains beyond the rotunda and many signs of spring along the paths.
Buds and blossom, daffodils, magnolias, rhododendrons, camellias and daisies...
Lots of people are out strolling, playing lawn bowls, tennis and frisbee golf.

We have returned from our  motorcycle ride around Australia.
The Queenstown gardens beckon.

Come, walk with me.
